can sql server 7 be installed on a windows XP environment?

my pc just got infected with the redloaf virus and i have to reformat it. will sql server 7 run on windows xp? is it compatible? if not, what OS would sql server 7 be compatible?Howdy

I doubt it - SQL 2000 cant be installed, so SQL 7 would be the same I'd say.

I am running SQL Server 2000 on a WinXP Pro machine. So i would assume SQL 7 should go together with XP Pro.

Carsten|||You need the developer edition to install SQL 2000 on Windows XP.

Standard Edition does not install.

Probably the same as with SQL Server 7.
