Can we define dynamic calculation members?

Hi, all here,

I am also wondering is there any way for us to define dynamic calculation members across different levels? (e.g. whatever dimension levels you are browsing you will be able to see the calculated members bound to the particular dimension level you are browsing).

Hope it is clear for your kind advices and help.

I am looking forward to hearing from you shortly for your help.

With best regards,

Yours sincerely,

If you are using MDX (in a query) to calculate your members, I believe if you reference .CurrentMember in any of the attributes/dimensions the calculated member will live in the scope of the Where clause of the query.

If defining it as a calculated measure in the cube, I think it automatically adjusts to the scope of the query.

You can also read up on the SCOPE statement here : http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms145989.aspx

Good luck,

John

Can the report table have varying number of columns ??

The requierment is tyo have a dynamic report, that has a table with number of
columns decided on the input from recordset.
The SQL procedure takes in parameters and returns recordset, that can have
varying number of columns. All we want to do is to link this recordset to a
table on the report.
The report table should show the columns as they are in the Recordset. ( and
the column name in the recordset shall appear as the column header in the
Reporting table.)
-- Alok Kumar GuptaThere's really no good way to do this in the current version, no.

Can Reportviewer control size be dynamic

When using an asp.net 2.0 reportviewer control to display an SSRS report, the size of the report is always bigger that the control it is housed in. So you have to scroll back and forth.

Can't the Reportviewer control size be dynamic? What is the general parctice on this?

Thanks

ReportControl and SSRS newbie!

Hi,

I'm not sure what do you mean by "control the size dynamically". Based on my knowledge, if the report does not need to scroll verticall within the iframe, you can handle it in two ways.

First, assign the height, width value in a hard coded way, you can refer the following code which shares the solution.
http://www.codeproject.com/sqlrs/ReportViewer2005.asp

Second, you can set two properties to make the repoertviewer autosize:

AsyncRendering = false; and SizeToReportContent = true;

Thanks.
